Mid-air tactile feedback

A new device that will let Kinect users feel the effects of their gestures was unveiled at an international conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques in Califronia last week.  Developed by Disney Research in Pittsburgh, the ‘Aireal’ device fires compressed air that create tactile effects “ranging from the sensation of a butterfly resting on your arm, to a swatting a ball during a tennis match”.
